NEWSLETTER December 19, 2007 Vol. 4 - Issue 23 In This Edition: A Question of Time: How Long Does it Take to Heal? by Jennifer Taylor, CEO Quantum-Touch, Inc. One of the common questions I receive is, “How long will it take to heal?” Of course we all want instant results! However, as I have learned, sometimes true healing requires patience… Our philosophy here at Quantum-Touch is that all healing is self-healing; an excellent “healer” is someone who was very sick and got well. Quantum-Touch practitioners facilitate the space for healing, but ultimately it is up to the client to get well. Energy work, diet, exercise and other natural/holistic healing methods facilitate healing from the root cause of the issue. If the problem has been chronic, spanning years or decades, the client may have a lot of work to do to shift the core cause. Sometimes the client can heal the core cause instantly – resulting in quick and spectacular results! And sometimes, getting to the root cause may require months or years of diligence with diet, exercise, energy work and other holistic means. However, I have learned that every step you take to heal yourself will have impact and sometimes in surprising and delightful ways! Let me give you an example… I had severe chronic allergies my entire life and took pharmaceuticals to try to “fix” the allergies. After receiving unsatisfactory results from this, I turned to raw foods, energy work, exercise, and other holistic means. After a 7 year journey, I noticed a gradual shift in my allergies (I am currently allergy free!) and in addition, I noticed other nice benefits such as better skin tone, shinier thicker hair, more energy, clearer thoughts, and feelings of greater connectivity to my spirit. Everyone’s healing journey is unique and it’s important to trust the process and well as marvel at the wonderful surprises along the way! Practitioner Requirement Update As of February 1, 2008, no more than 20 of the 60 required hours to become a certified practitioner may be on self, plants, animals and distant healing. Applications received after February 1, 2008 that exceed 20 hours of sessions on self, plants, animals and distant healing will still be given credit provided those distant healing sessions were completed prior to February 1st. If you are in the process of becoming a practitioner and have already completed 20 or more hours towards the categories of self, plants, animals and distant healing, please ensure that the remainder of your sessions are hands on. (Please note: If a distant healing session takes place in conjunction with a telephone or chat room conversation, it is still considered a distant healing session). Although distant healing is as effective as hands on healing, Richard Gordon would like to emphasize how important it is to have "in person" client experiences. Quantum-Touch is working to provide greater service to our instructors and practitioners. Some of the ideas we are working on are providing Continuing Education Hours to massage therapists through a national continuing education organization for the Live Basic QT Workshop taught in the United States, providing a higher level of website tools, and providing additional marketing tools through videos, articles, teleconferences and webinars. As part of this, we are raising the certification fees. As of Feb. 1, 2008, the certification fee for becoming a Certified QT Instructor will be $300.00 US Dollars. The certification fee for becoming a Certified QT Practitioner will be $200.00 US Dollars. It is a joy to work together to bring greater health and happiness to the world through Quantum-Touch. The Interactive Basic Video Workshop registration fee was increased by $15 US dollars, making the new registration fee $90 US dollars effective as of November 1, 2007. Quantum-Touch Stories From Pain Management to Pain Free 12 years ago, a horse took me down crushing 5 vertebrae, damaging 3 disks leaving scar tissue and bone spurs in my back. My daily survival consisted of multiple pain killers 24 hours a day. 2 years ago, I went off of my many pain medications and life went completely black. I could not survive without pain medication; I would drop to the floor in pain and would often vomit and was unable to work. My father had to help me dress and assist with other daily life functions. Several specialists turned refused me as a candidate for surgery as my injury was between vertebrae T6 and T11, which they considered far too dangerous to operate on. I had a nerve block done in July of this year, which allowed me to reduce my pain pills from 12-15 per day to 7-8 per day. The block lasted about 2 ½ months and I had a total of 10 injections since that time. After each injection, I could not walk for 15 minutes. I heard about Quantum-Touch in October, and took an Interactive Basic Video Workshop in November, and I am now proudly down to 2 pain pills per day and am back to work! I have used QT to treat people with the same results, including my father who has suffered from strokes. I have always felt that, from an early age, I have been working with energy or had ability. When I was young, I would often help my mother when she had pain and it often seemed to work. Now, after learning more about Quantum-Touch and learning the basic techniques, I know we all have the ability to do this and I feel that I have enhanced what I already have and know how to do. Glenn E. Bontrager Indiana, USA I needed to use my cell phone, but the battery was dead. I ran energy on the entire phone for three or four minutes and it gained one bar. I was pretty excited about this, so I continued to run energy for another 10 minutes. My battery came up to two bars and I was able to make my call. This is pretty fun! Bridget Broihahn Mahomet, Illinois My 28-year-old son, Mervyn, had to have all four wisdom teeth taken out on the same day; and my daughter and I have both had had the exact same operation so we know how unpleasant it can be afterwards with cheeks that swell up like balloons and having to stay at home for 3 or 4 days. It is also extremely painful and, to my horror, my daughter later admitted to me that she had to take more than the allowed amount of pain killers to get through. I wanted to save Mervyn from all this and having just attended my first Quantum-Touch workshop, I was eager to try out what I had learned. I knew the time of his operation and started doing QT on him half an hour later. I spent 5 minutes concentrating on each place where a wisdom tooth had been extracted. I did QT again in the afternoon, and then twice a day for the next 3 days. I was really thrilled with the result. Mervyn took only one pain killer, but that was only because the dentist gave it to him immediately after the operation rather from pain. After that, he didn't need any painkillers at all because he just didn't feel any pain! One cheek swelled up, but only a little. On the fourth day, Mervyn developed an earache, so I chased the pain by doing QT on his ear for 15 minutes. After that, all was well. One day after the operation, the dentist asked Mervyn to open his mouth as wide as possible. Mervyn was able to open his mouth very wide! The dentist was amazed as it is usually difficult to open the mouth at all. The dentist was very pleased with the whole healing progress as was Mervyn. My daughter asked why I hadn’t learned Quantum-Touch one year earlier! I said to myself: Better late than never! I hope this will encourage many of you to do Quantum Touch. It is so easy and effective and all was done via distant healing. I love it. Daphne Gulland Germany The Passing Shasta, our Cat While we were in Amsterdam teaching this fall, we got an email from our son, Forrest, asking us to do some distance QT on our 17-year-old cat Shasta. He said she wasn't eating anymore, was getting weaker and seemed to be failing. When I "tuned in" to work on her, it felt like she was barely there. But as I worked on her with the Core Transformation techniques, her presence felt stronger and I "felt" her purring. We continued to work on her over the next couple of days and she rallied for a bit. Then she started failing again. On that Monday as we were flying home, Alain was working on her. He turned to me and asked what I noticed if I did the basic QT Technique and tried to get the energy to meet for her. I did it and we shared experiences, which turned out to be the same. It felt like the energy went into a very thin surface layer, but inside that it was empty. When I tried to make the energy meet in the center of that emptiness, it just disappeared as if it didn't exist. When we got home, we found out that Shasta was either close to dying or had already passed by that time. Forrest found her lying under my chair in the living room where I sit with my laptop. I'm glad she didn't suffer through any long illnesses, but I'm sorry I couldn't be there physically for her when she went. She was always upset when either Alain or I left on a trip and was happiest when all of us were in the same room with her. But I'm glad I could be there for her with QT and feel her purr. Jody Herriott, Advanced QT Instructor USA I have done therapy on two dying dogs on two different occasions where both got up within 20 minutes of the therapy. The first time my niece was astonished to see her dying puppy get up and start playing, and the second time we were dog sitting for my son. His dog had been playing normally for about 10 minutes and then suddenly he became lethargic and his hind legs were stiff. His legs were stretched out to the limit and he could not get up or move. His tongue was way out and we knew he was dying. I treated him with QT, magnets and prayer. He did not respond within the first 10 minutes and I lost my faith, so I called my son, who was in Canada, to have him give me his Vet's name and address. While he was looking for the information to give me, the dog got up and was normal again! Both myself and my husband are still asking ourselves, "Did it really happen?" I still marvel at this type of healing practice, but I give all merit to the Almighty for the love He has for all of his creatures. He decides how fast, who and when He will heal. We are just His channels. Carmen, Utah, USA While working in a kindergarten in Indonesia, I had several opportunities to do Quantum-Touch. A new boy was screaming and jumping away for his mother, who had left. I took him, put him on my lap, and he was actually kicking and pushing me away. I placed my hands on the front and back of his chest while running energy to calm him down. After 5 minutes of running energy, he stopped crying and was breathing calmly. I continued to run energy for another 5 minutes and then gave him his soft bag to cuddle. He joined the class and has not cried since then. In fact, the next day he said goodbye to his mum and came into the classroom. My supervisor who heard him scream and then saw him stop, asked me what I did to him. I told her I did QT! Another incident was when a girl slapped a boy for taking her crayons. When I saw three red finger marks on his face, I told myself I've to tell his mum what happened, but she must not see those red marks. I ran energy on the marks using the tripod and, after about a minute, the redness disappeared. I told his mum about what happened, but didn't mention the red finger marks or QT. Two weeks ago, one of my friends in Singapore sent me a message and asked when I was returning. She said she just had a bad fall, was in great pain, could not walk around and she needed me to do QT. I asked her the exact part that was hurting and told her that I'll do distant QT. I called her after I finished and asked how she felt. She said she felt some relief but still had some pain. I continued doing QT the next day, and when I called on the third day, she said that she was in Malaysia on holiday, was feeling great and walking around. When I returned a couple of days ago, I visited her. She said she was amazed at how QT works even when I was so far away from her. She said she could feel relief as I was doing distant QT - before starting, I had sent her a message to say that I'm starting QT for her. I'm glad to have attended the live and video workshops. The desire to reach out and help becomes automatic - Love really has impact. Peace and God's Blessings to All Christina Singapore My hubby cracked a rib and was in excruciating pain. I immediately began to do QT on him and, after 20 minutes, he said he felt much better. He had a shower, and fed the cat and was able to do most everything he normally does. But, yesterday morning, as he was lying in bed with his back to me, I ran my hand down his side. From his shoulder to almost his waist, I felt a rather large lump about the size of my fist. I was shocked and told him this seemed worthy of a visit to the ER. He refused, as he always does when doctors are mentioned, so I once again did some QT work on him for 20 minutes. Low and behold, the lump totally disappeared as did the pain. He now says he feels as if the incident (the cracked rib) never happened. Imagine! I’m so impressed with the effectiveness of the work that I immediately began doing QT on my aged cat, Merlyn. If it is not his time to go, then his body will heal; and if it "is" his time to go, then I have no doubt the QT energy will ease his transition. Either way, it can only do good. Zulema Blizinsky USA
