The body performs a million functions at once, but most of the time, people are unaware of those functions occurring while they happen. When you’re not feeling well, however, you likely sense that something isn’t right with your body. You may feel out-of-kilter, or experience a feeling that something is off.
The Human Body: More Than a Machine
The concept that the human body is a machine, made up of systems and functions, became increasingly popular during the industrial revolution and continues today, but many disagree with that notion. Living bodies are so much more. Everyone has energy fields that contribute to their life force, and these energy fields can become blocked or damaged, and affect the physical body. Throughout human history, there have been healers who focus on repairing and unblocking the flow of energy, and restoring health and well-being, using hundreds of different techniques to restore the body as a whole. Below, we explain two of those techniques.
Reiki: Divine Life Energy
Originating in Japan, Reiki is a technique used for managing and reducing stress, promoting relaxation and improving wellness, and is not intended for curing disease or illnesses. However, it may assist the body in creating an environment that facilitates healing. Many hospitals and medical facilities incorporate Reiki methods into traditional medical practices and treatment plans. Practitioners use one of two methods in Reiki sessions: a light, hands-on method, or a hands-off method. These methods are incorporated with spiritual practices to drive divine energy back to the body, allowing that energy to determine what parts of the body require healing.
