Healing Hands

As I travel the country teaching workshops in a form of hands-on healing called Quantum-Touch, people are often quite surprised to discover that they universally possess the ability to cause bones to spontaneously move into alignment with only a light touch. If this were not strange enough, students can dramatically cause stale wine to taste reasonably good (when compared to the untreated wine) after they run energy into it.

What do these odd and unlikely phenomenon have to do with healing, and why are they important? To answer these questions I ll take a slightly circuitous route, so bear with me.

In nature, when two systems vibrate at different frequencies, there is a tendency for the two vibrations to come together. This is most often referred to as the process of resonance and entrainment. When you play a note on the piano, the guitar string across the room may begin to vibrate to that sound. Similarly tuned electrical oscillators in proximity to one another will eventually match each other in vibration will resonate and entrain to one another. Biological entrainment occurs when fire flies all blink together, frogs croak and crickets crick together. When disembodied animal hearts are kept alive near each other in a lab, they will in time begin to beat together. When women share a dormitory, they may begin to menstruate at the same time.

In a process involving resonance and entrainment, either the lower frequency will come up to match the higher frequency, the higher one may come down to match the lower one, or the two may come together somewhere in the middle. We can even experience this process when we are in a room with someone who is happier, or less happy than ourselves. There is a tendency for one person to bring the other up or down.

Resonance and entrainment also take place in the healing process. When a practitioner learns to raise his or her vibration through various breathing and body awareness techniques, he or she can create a high level of energy. If that field is placed around an area of pain, stress, inflammation, or disease, that part of the body will entrain to the energy of the practitioner causing something amazing to occur. This something special is called healing.

Healing is a fascinating process which is generally very poorly understood. While many people think they can heal other people, it is of utmost importance to realize that ALL HEALING IS SELF-HEALING. Ultimately, cells heal themselves. Cells desire to be well, and given the right energetic, emotional and nutritional environments, they will do just that. The body has an extraordinary intelligence and ability to heal itself which is generally not well respected, and modern medicine often attempts to take invasive measures to do what they believe the body will not do for itself. Instead of working to raise the life-force energy of the patient, they often work to reduce symptoms or to try to lower the life-force of the disease. In the case of some cancer treatments, the attempt is to kill the cancer in the hope that the cancer will die before the patient. In my opinion, this attitude is misguided often represents the height of arrogance.

Dr. Deepak Chopra wrote that in order for consciousness to affect matter, it would have to happen on a quantum or subatomic level. In order for the life-force energy to affect biological systems, it would have to affect these systems at the smallest level “ the subatomic. Consider that atoms are 99.9999% space. Perhaps even more remarkable, the energy packets that make up the subatomic reality is also 99.9999% space. These energy packets have more space between them than the distance between the earth and the sun. This subatomic stuff is not made of particles, in fact, it has no mass. These packets of energy actually pop in an out of existence altogether.

Early subatomic experiments found that the expectation of the scientists would get results consistent with the scientist s beliefs. Scientists were then forced to double blind the experiments so their expectations did not influence the results. Rather than ask the bold and more interesting question, How do our expectations cause the subatomic world to dance in accordance with expectations?, they chose the easier route of double blinding the experiments.

Quantum-Touch practitioners learn simple exercises to raise their life-force energy to a very high level. Life-force can be thought of as the animating current of life. While there are dozens of cultures who have understood life-force energy and have named it, it most often referred to as prana, , chi, or ki . Our western civilization still thinks of life-force as folklore, and often refers to it as placebo or woo woo . Nevertheless, the life-force appears to be able to affect matter on a sub-atomic level. Glen Rein, Ph.D., Director of the Quantum Biology Research Lab in Northport New York, has shown that healers were able to cause DNA to wind more tightly or more loosely based on their intentions.

So why do bones move into alignment with only a light touch from a healing practitioner? Practitioners raises their vibration with body awareness exercises and breathing techniques. By holding soft hands gently over the hip bones, a field of energy interacts with life-force energy of the person receiving the session. This interaction is often called resonance. In time, the receiver entrains, or matches the vibration of the practitioner. The body intelligence of the receiver does what their body decides to do under the circumstances. The energy works through the subatomic, through the atomic, the molecular, the cellular levels, through the tissues, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and voila, bones seem to glide silently back into alignment. Why do the bones move? Because the body wants it that way. When it chooses to go back, it is of their own accord, and there is very little tendency for it to go back out again.

Realize, that the bones moving back into place represent only the very most visible expression of the changes taking place. The same energy will often stop pain, cause inflammation to be dramatically reduced, it will balance organs, glands, and tissues of the body. Since it is always the body healing itself, the body will use this energy in what ever way it decides to use it. Life-force energy even has a remarkable effect on psychological states. It is my opinion that in the future, all psychotherapists will be required to responsibly touch their patients. After all, you cannot effectively talk to a person having a panic attack. However, you can effectively bring a person out of a panic attack by running energy into them. The body and mind are all one. As Candice Pert, Ph.D. discovered, brain receptors are found throughout the entire body/mind.

Partly for fun, and mostly to make a point, I often buy the biggest cheapest bottles of wine I can find and I open them on Friday night before a Quantum-Touch workshop. By Sunday late afternoon, the wine gets to be very ripe. I make sure that each participant gets about ½ inch of wine in a paper cup and they run energy into the wine as if it were a person or an animal. After a few minutes of doing this, I have them taste their wine and most people say that it tastes pretty good. Then I have them try the uncharged wine and watch as these people make the most awful faces as they drink the stale wine. Wine connoisseurs in the workshops are often most astounded by this turn of events.

I intentionally take a few minutes from the healing work of the class to make this point with the wine. I want people to know that the life-force is affecting the very physics and chemistry of matter. Life-force energy will in my opinion eventually impact and transform all the major sciences. Not just physics and chemistry, but biology, medicine, psychology and botany.

Beyond the impact on the sciences, Quantum-Touch techniques are propelled by the power of our essence or true nature --- love. You see, love is the underline power behind the life-force energy. This is not the enculturated love associated with a mother and child or husband and wife. It is the sort of love that is simply who and what we are. As people engage in this healing work over a long period of time, I find that they reach a few inescapable conclusions: Healing is the easiest of skills to learn. Our love has value. Our love has impact. My love has impact, and my love has value.
